How quickly we forget this stuff? Weren’t the Swift boaters the people that condemned John Kerry for faking his war injuries? Or was it simply that they questioned the extent of his injuries. Apparently, you’re not a true veteran if the bullet only grazes your shoulder. Maybe he needs to exchange his purple heart for a pink heart. He was there getting shot at. That should count for something. I mean it’s not quite the same as bone spurs and simply being too busy to show up but it’s something.
Then they began to attack him for a having an erotic relationship with Jane Fonda when he came home from Vietnam. They brutalized him for having this unsavory affair. Somehow, it was wrong for a war veteran to have a tryst with Hanoi Jane. I’m figuring that if he fought for our country, he ought to get a little leeway.
And I find it absolutely stunning that someone would be critical of sleeping with Jane Fonda. It’s especially stunning when the persons making the comment are flaming homophobes. They hate the gays and claim to be real men.
Now, I saw “Barbarella” multiple times. Many a youthful fantasy entailed imagery from that movie. I can’t say that I would blame anyone for wanting to have an affair with her. If John Kerry was tapping Jane Fonda back then, I’m going to have to give him a thumbs up.
Hanoi Jane
Wait. Stop. I'm having a 60's flash back.
