IN SEARCH OF DIVINE FIDELITY

Autumn flees and winter approaches,

Nights are getting colder,

In such a routine am I too caught,

Longing to be warmer.

I am one of a kind,

Who, for love and affection,

Can give everything,

To the deserving woman.

No one exists now,

Save some old friends,

Who reach out to me,

And pledge a friendly vow.

Maybe I was not for this world,

Somehow, I got stranded here,

For the selfless love I seek,

Is nowhere, far or near.

I do spend time with friends,

Smile at their laughing tears.

I cajole and dance with them,

To ward away sadness, fears.

YET THE TRUTH OF MY STORY IS,

I AM TERRIBLY LONELY INSIDE,

I SEE NO GIRL WHO CAN LOVE ME,

WITH LIFELONG FIDELITY.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Composed on the 21st of October, 2016, as the first winds of winter change the weather. This poem not only is a depiction of how much I miss my first love, Daphne John, it also shows a glimpse of my inward loneliness...to find out if there is any other girl/woman out there just like Daphne John.
