What greedy bastards to place the blame

suing for her money it's such a shame.

Sue the FUCKING DOCTOR for his negligence

for never checking upon that single patient!

Now she must appear to court this Friday

in which that avaricious family can make gains.

Beaucoup bucks lost out of her own wallet.

Suing others, such is our present judicial outlet.

That doctor is set free with no scratch.

No fault lies with him, not one string attached.

My aunt, a nurse, may lose her nursing license.

SHIT-HEAD FAMILY!  GREEDY BITCHES, YOU'VE NO COMMON SENSE!

Take a look at that doctor last week, fine and well.

He said, "Oh no, that patient there is doing swell!"

Three hours later the patient goes to emergency.

NOW the patient's condition is taken seriously.

Guess who gets to lose?  My nice aunt.

Though she was involved SHE gets the smack.

Hello court!  Hello jury!  Hello judge!

I'm here for someone else's fault, off the cliff I'm budged!

Author's Notes/Comments:

For my aunt who will appear to court this Friday.  Inspirational spark from Sharon Wunchs's "Ode to Villainous Doctors" and my earlier critique / comment written there.  Here's what I wrote to understand what's going on lately:  "Doctors are villainous.  Just recently my aunt who's a nurse, she was supervisor last Thursday at the hospital she worked.  Well, one of the patients seemed to have a problem so the family inquired to her about it.  She didn't know what was going on, she wasn't sure when she checked, so she asked the nearest doctor.  The doctor said oh he's fine; nothing to worry about.  It's like that. (but problem was he didn't even bother to check the patient thoroughly to make sure)  Three hours later if I can recall, that patient ends up in the emergency room.  Now the family of that patient is suing my aunt for it because they blame her though it's not her fault at all.  Luckily the patient survived but they're STILL undergoing litigation starting this Friday.  Greedy bitches.  But you know I think it was right for her to ask a doctor; she wasn't the complete expert.  But why the fuck are they going to blame and sue my aunt if it's the doctor's fault for negligence?"

suggestion call the board of licencing for nurses in your state. Don't give names but explain situation and see what they have to offer. If they can do nothing call your attorney general and see what they have to say.

I so totally agree with you,it's not your aunts fault and she only went on what doc said the thing is did she have a witness to hear it otherwise it's her word against docs and you know doc is going to save his own hide even by lieing. Remember ,docs bury their mistakes..It's shit like this that makes many leave the nursing field. So much lack of respect toward nursing staff in general..

I wish I had more legal expertise. I don't see how they could win this litigation against your aunt when it is the doctor is in charge and diagnosing people's illnesses is his responsibility. As a nurse, I don't think your aunt is licensed or expected to make decisions about the patient's illness. As long as she told the doctor about the patient's complaint, she was fulfilling her duty and I don't know what they could possibly sue her for. Courts are scary places though. They aren't necessarily just. Sometimes they reward the greedy opportunists. I hope it doesn't turn out bad for her. Give her my regards and best wishes.

I hope all works out for your Aunt. Any rational human can see that it was her responsiblilty to ask a doctor and she did just that. This litigious society well live in gets worse every day, and its the same as everywhere shit falls downhill...Rae

Oh my gosh!! Your aunt is being blamed for something she didn't do?! That must suck!! Most definitely!!

I can't believe that the nearest doctor that she went to, didn't mean do a good job of making sure if the patient was really ok. I don't think that the doctor did his job very well, and as for the patient, he had to go into the Emergency Room because of it, and not only that, but the family of the patient blamed her and now your aunt has to go to court?!! This is ridiculous!! =(
