Soul mate





Your beautiful emerald eyes

Have held me spellbound

for so many days,

I have lost count.



Your presence at my side.

has been so reassuring

this I have been yearning for

all of my life.



And here you are

Your perfection exceeds even

my wildest dreams.

My heart beats faster,

just imagining your smile.



Why am I so afraid

to take your extended hand-

offered from the start,

to take me to that far off land.

And mend my hungry heart.



Its not that I do not love you.

Of this you can be sure,



It’s just that  I don’t have

blessings from up above.



If God would only let me know,

that into your arms I was free to go.

My life on earth would be perfect

as being your spouse

would make me complete.
