moving on

I don’t wanna cry,

I still wanna try.

I don’t wanna wait,

I don’t wanna say goodbye.

I don’t wanna end the fight,

I wanna see the end of the fight.

I know it will be hard,

But, I want you to move on.

Author's Notes/Comments:

it is about a soldier of some sort who knows it is his time to die. Even though he doesn't want to he wants his loved one to move on.

Hey...I've read through almost all of your poetry, and I love it all. They are so wonderfully written. I can really feel what your feeling when you write...That's a rare gift...Dont lose it. The reason I critiqued this one, is because it hit home for me. My brother just got back from fighting in Iraq for 6 months. When he left, he said the same thing to me...Along these lines at least. Pretty much he told us that if anything happened to him, he wanted his family to continue on with our lives, and not fall to pieces over him. It was hard for me to watch him go...But this poem kind of gives me a look inside his head...So thank you for that.
