I gave and I gave until there was no more for me

I tried and I tried but still I let you flee

Flee away from me and my dreams

Healing on my own burns deep down within 

I don't want anymore contact

Even though memories and emotions will come and go

I should know better 

I did this before 

Time and time again 

All the places and spaces we used to be in 

But that was then and this is now 

And the way this heart hurts 

Is why I vow to stay away
