Morning Sun

Gazing from my window at the city below,
watching the hustle and bustle of all the people on the go.
I shelter myself within this room,
the only place I can feel safe – inside this dark tomb.

I glance around at the shadows cast
upon these four walls – they seem so vast.
Shadows of gloom that forever chase me,
a black hole from which I flee.

You sucked me in and spit me out,
filling my life with nothing but doubt.
I was left in solitude — Ah. To just sit and rest.
Quietly, I will take my descent into nothingness
