So I’ve held you now for nearly three months

Now I’ve got to explain to you

That these words are not adjectives of love

Though I’ve tried to break this verse

There is no rhyme in this song

No melody in this curse



So this is what bittersweet tastes like

Brailed love for the heartless

You slipped through my fingers

Though I never knew they parted

I kind of knew it was over before it began



So how do I explain this

I think I saw it get up and leave

So where do we stand now that it’s over

Now that the brailed book feel on the floor

The desperate reaching will tire us

Now even sight can’t give back what never was given before
