It had been a great day.
She had had a productive day at work, she had a great lunch and it was a pay day. It was just a great day. Her great day continued, till the afternoon. She was going to her monthly reunion with some friends. Sometimes she saw all her friends, and sometimes only the half of them. This time the hangout was going to be at a restaurant. When she got to the restaurant she noticed that she was the only one there. After some minutes waiting her friend Holden came. They waited for the other ones, but they never came. Holden and her decided since they were already there they were going to stay and have dinner. They chatted through dinner. The conversation was pleasant, and they got updated about their life. Dinner came to an end, and they said their goodbye. Holden insisted to get her home, but she insisted she was fine. She thanked Holden for being a really good friend, and got home.
The next month came bay, and so did the next friend's night. This time her group of friends talked about seeing a movie that was going to be released. The day was selected, and they all promised they would go. That this time they would not be only be Holden and her. The day came and she was ready to see her friends.
She was surprised when she only saw Holden at the cinema. They all had promised to go, so she asked in their group chat if they were going to go. No one said anything, they had ignored her text. She got mad at her friends, but she still saw the movie with Holden. The atmosphere was comfortable and amenable. At the end of the movie they talked and they start to discuss the next get together. Since their friends weren’t able to come in the last get together, Holden asks her if they could get together another time. She says yes, this way maybe their friends could assist, maybe their schedules weren’t aligning.
The next night out with friends come, and her friends never come. It’s only Holden and her, again, for the third consecutive time. They go to a bar, they have a great time, and he asks her for another day they could meet. She says a day she thinks a girlfriend can come.
The day come, and this time she isn’t alone with Holden. Her friend arrives with her, and they go on with their night. They have fun, but you can feel the awkwardness. Something is off, but she can’t think about what it could be. The night end, but this time she can’t agree to go out with her friends, her schedule is swamped but she assures Holden that maybe next month they could reunite the gang.
Some days later, she went out with some girlfriends and started to talk. They were catching up on their lives, and they were talking about their love life when Holden came up into the conversation. Her friends started to grill her about their dates, and how cute he was. The whole thing was weird for her, she didn’t know why they were talking about she going to a date with Holden, when that had never happened. So she decided to ask them about it. She was surprised when her friends told her that Holden had told their friends to not go to the dinner night so they could have a night day. She was shocked that Holden had a crush on her, and immediately wanted to tell him that she only saw him as a friend.
Some days later she got ahold of Holden and she told him that he was very sweet but she already had a boyfriend and she could only see him as a friend. Holden was embarrassed because he thought they were dating, but at the end he understood it was her life and he couldn’t control her.
