Raymond A, a policital activist in DC
who has campaigned
for more support services for the unemployed
and has written 3 how to books on Social Security
and other government institution applications..
was involved in a sit in in the DC unemployment
office.
The police were called. Rather than taking him
to jail, as is customary with sit in participants
the police took him to DC General, where
the staff told him that all those brought
in by the police are put in restraints.
He was held in restraints overnight. In the morning
they found he had high blood pressure (as one might
expect from the mistreatment).
DC General is ending some of its services in May.
