Waking

Waking

there’s a noise outside the door

something in the trash can

it can come back but

won’t it go away?

All this trouble just

to drink beer

once more,

again.

—-

I could say so much about the yellow window

eating so much daylight

it will never grow

from all that gold

nothing but the Sun

ever appears

anymore.

—-

Fasting and the dictionary

the kitchen counter

two couches I don’t own

I don’t watch television anymore

There are so many episodes

there’s too much to read.

—-

I have such a small brain

still surviving on the

radio hums

the inner heat

not enough to really answer anything

but the soul is

as heavy as all the hours.
