Sympathy Just In Time For The Burial

Please stand and give your last statement

And fear the rotting, reaching hand

Death's my favorite flavor

Especially coated in glass

And we will have time to sample

As long as we have some meaning

Nothing's out of ordinary

As long as birds are singing

Because why should we question the world

When we can shield ourselves from its might

Denial's such an ugly world

So can I please avoid your eye?

Because you're the one who proves me wrong

And you've been chasing from the start

I don't need your condescending

Or all of your meaningless art

All I need is my teddy bear

And a couple of things to read

Filled with such pretty images

That mislead and then lie to me

I'm another cliche idol

So very colorful and bright

With labels and hypocrisy

I complicate so many lives

But I guess there's no more of that now

As I'm sinking into the Earth

There isn't any obsession

Nor is there any more hurt

Now I'm just "Mother Nature's gift"

Or one simple corpse at its end

I'm sure the worms will be grateful

For such a pretty face to cleanse.

END
