When you left that night,

I had no idea that would be the last time I would see you,

My life would forever be a shade darker without you,

You were a ray of light in this ugly world,

Always having the biggest smile on your face,

Laughter filled any room you were in,

Brightening any cloudy day was your specialty,

Radiating happiness and love everywhere you went,

I can't believe tomorrow marks one week without you,

Dressing up in all black to say my last goodbye,

I'm not ready for this,

I wish I could come home and see you once more,

And tell you how much I loved you,

Why did God take you from me?

I struggle to understand why you?

You meant the world to me,

I may have only had a short time with you,

But my god the impression you made on my life,

I'd like to think I'm better because of you,

You showed me it was okay to be who I am,

You gave me back my life,

We may not have been family by blood,

But you were family by choice,

I love you,

And so I say goodbye for the last time,

With sorrow filling my heart,

And tears filling my eyes,

Goodbye Brenda.
