Nest

Once a bird build a nest upon a tree-
On top of the branch no one can see!
With all its love, the bird built the nest,
Where it’ll put the kids under the chest!
The bird collected straw from the meadow,
Built the nest with love under the shadow!
When she finished building the nest tiny,
She thanked god for that she got a destiny!
Everyday she came as early she could-
Loved to see the nest, natural, she should!
After a week she laid three beautiful eggs-
Then she became busy counting the days!
She sat on the eggs with the warm of heart,
Forgot hunger or thirst! Didn’t make apart!
She got her beautiful kids after fifteen days,
For her tiny babies she made a lot of prays!
All the day she collected grain for the kids,
Many things! Sometimes insects or seeds!
One day a man, stranger! Came in the village,
He had a gun with him, he had the privilege!
One summer day the bird was searching food,
She was in hurry! The day was really not good!
She sat on one small branch to take a little rest-
Her kids are hungry they’re waiting in the nest!
BOOM! Suddenly the bird fell on the ground-
A bullet penetrated chest! Made her astound!
The gun-man just as a game targeted the bird-
His game took her life and snatched her world!
She couldn’t understand that she was going to die,
She just only thought then why I could not fly?
She waved her wings but alas she couldn’t move,
Her energy is finished! Alas! She couldn’t prove!
Before closing her eyes she saw her kids playing!
What will happen with them! Why such crying?
The kids waited for their mother to come-
They cried, cried! But nobody came home!
The kids died one after another! Whom to blame?
‘Fie! Gun-man!’ for you, I can only say, shame!
