(Won't Catch Me) Hiding from the Sun

There was a time not long ago

I pined desperately in the dark.

I marinated in my woe.

The thrill of life had lost its spark.

Now the world is mine with you by my side

And everything seems to shimmer and shine.

When trials arise I’ll take them in stride

And before long we’ll be tasting the wine.

I’ve never been more blessed to turn a page.

It’s a singular bliss, second to none.

The power of your love helped set the stage –

Now I look at you and I’m sure I’ve won.

It’s time to face the wind, set down my parasol.

I’ll smell the honeysuckle, wave to boats on the bay.

With your hand in mine I can rejoice in it all.

No, they won’t catch me hiding from the sun, not today.
