Kindly Leave

I would like somewhere to rest when I pass on,
Somewhere low I can go and always belong.
It's not too much to ask, I'm sure you agree,
Just a place in the ground with a vacancy.
There's no pathos or sadness –
We've got to relax.
Sooner or later we must facts;
We're not indestructible.
The bridge we must cross is another phase –
No hardship, no loss.
When my ship comes in, don't turn her away.
Why keep nature's course at bay?
There must come a time
For the pain to relieve.
I'll need my place in the ground, then –
Kindly leave.
