I heard a cry from his heart

Of how he wished it didn’t start

He told me in his pain

That he would never love again

As I looked into his eyes

Something shattered his cries

And soon enough we started our lies

I just wanted to keep him as a friend

But his heart told me it would never end

I stood my ground

And soon I had found

That I was right

But still we began to fight

For weeks on end we did not speak

Because we knew the anger couldn’t cease

Then one day you came to say

That you would still love me anyway

I knew at last

That your crush had passed

And our friendship shall forever last
