Never Went Back

It's been years since my fleeting youth has past

and the pressures of adulthood made their toll.

If only things were as simple as they once were.

Our only concerns were having air in our tires,

or if our best friends would be around to play.

Childhood simply speed past way to quickly,

although it didn't seem like it did at the time.

What ever became of the friends we had as kids,

haven't seen them for longer than I care to think.

Alas, I left my bike by the old telephone pole,

and never went back to see if it was OK.
