THE FIRES OF CHRISTABEL

Folder:
JOURNAL #27

as the flicker doth seek flame

nimble is the preferred maiden

though unapparent

an impertinent chit

for love's flawed gain

timid, umblemished heart

fervently overflowing

with the rush of fresh suitors

smiles all a plenty

bearing flowers and even flowerier

promises

riddled with gifts and prose

inspiring blooming, merry mischief

to set forth a rowing

still, such frank perusal

enrapts her innocence's wit

and ability to self compose

don the veil like Hester's best stag!

gapes a most rebellious fiery tempered she

why, when shy, shaky leaf cowards take up

the helmets of heroes

protesteth vehemently the supposed gentle

summer sprig

.........and Hercules himself lax with dotage

in his legs

struggles to sit and noticeably winces

there, thy uncle will preside the day that hogs

will hail fine gentleman's carriages and alas

this ripe as a fresh ruby red plumb, peach of a

gal

the newly hired spring picker

chosen by thou

pinches and pitches

into the estate baskets strewn about until such

wide path

as that be cut

besiege me like locusts

to false edibles

no more

pray upon another's

more ignorant hungry vanity

as I have much reading to either attend to

or ignore..............
