NO MARTYR FOR LOVE TODAY*

JOURNAL # 37

harbor less house
lingering by the shore
crashing waves
breaking the peer
the smell of sea spray
fills the cool heavy air
leaving the lawn forlorn
a walking lone figure
up ahead
is followed by the trailing surf
a sea urchin of jumbled thoughts
she silently claims
ever swirling now do they
sway, pivot and bow
jockeying upon the shoulders of
the present
between the old and the new
uncertain of feelings that linger
yet with the wisdom of insight
confidence takes hold
why argue with what use to be
you are his now and tomorrow
where as she
but his distant past
long now gone
a shadow only his soul can
now caress
I can claim much peace
in my own slow realization
of this very  pertinent fact
'No Martyr For Love '
today will I reflect......................
