The absence of color

The absence of color
Life in black and white
As the world becomes smaller
Hope fades into the night
Day after day it rains
No amount of paint can cover the stains
Silent like a statue frozen in place
Smothered by darkness falling from grace
Out in the cold looking inside
I bend and fold surrounded by fear I hide
Can't stay can't go
What's in side of me
No one can know
I can't break free
I don’t know how
As the demons inside take control now
The fire is burning
It’s the color I am yearning
Angels spread their wings
Crying tears of black
As the demon’s dance and sing
Time walks away and never looks back
The space between is far and few
The light invisible even in clear view
Always trying to paint a picture
But it never comes out the way I pictured
Close the door
Turn off the light
Washed ashore
Into black of night
