Oh, Beautiful Child: A Mother's Poetry Inspired by Her Daughter's Artwork, Part 1

Children's Poetry

Oh, beautiful child, what a lovely rose you've created with oil paint;
I gives my world more beauty, and makes my troubles seem so faint.

Oh, beautiful child; as I hold you in my arms;
I promise you can come to me, if the world ever does you harm.

Oh, beautiful child; you've made your mountains standing while it snows;
You've had such patience with your dots; you've kept them safe while the wind blows.

Oh, beautiful child; I'll show you the magic of little swans in the lily pond;
They swim together; and like you and I, they share quite a beautiful bond.

Oh, beautiful child; you've made a sculpture of a little girl who swings;
I can almost hear her pretty voice as she freely sings.

We're like leaves on the branches of our family tree;
There will always be a place for you; there will always be a place for me.
