Oh, Wouldn't It Be Lovely, Part 8

Children's Poetry

Oh, wouldn't it be lovely if you could make a winter tree
Out of just a few toothpicks; oh, how happy you would be!

Oh, wouldn't it be lovely if you made a mountain out of glue and ripped gray paper;
You would use your fingers for it; you wouldn't even need a stapler!

Oh, wouldn't it be lovely if you found out
You could make a cottonbally snowy mountain; of this, I have no doubt!

Oh, wouldn't it be lovely if you could do most anything;
You could take a bunch of paper clips and turn them into a swing!

Oh, wouldn't it be lovely if you could make a butterfly;
Out of hearts, pipe cleaners, and glue; and you could see it in the sky!

Oh, wouldn't it be lovely if a gold ribbon;
Combined with a circular piece of gold paper; together made a cute, little sun!

Oh, wouldn't it be lovely if a happy full moon;
Made of cotton, googly eyes, yarn, and glue; lit up a pretty night of June!

Oh, wouldn't it be lovely if triangles pointing up and down;
Were crossed together; and made the prettiest star in town!

Oh, wouldn't it be lovely if you made a sky with a cloud;
Out of blue paper and a cottonball; your Mommy would be proud!

Oh, wouldn't it be lovely if several pieces of yarn made plus and minus signs;
Wow, math made out of lines!

Oh, wouldn't it be lovely if you
Traced your middle three fingers and made a "W".

Oh wouldn't it be lovely if a shaped were made perfectly round
By tracing a milk jug lid; then, look what you have found!

Oh, wouldn't it be lovely if severe depression
Could be relieved with much poetic aggression.
