The perfect masterpiece

At the beginning there was a blank canvas, there was nothing on it but space. An artist felt sad to see so much emptiness so he decided to paint. At first he began painting everything blue, he wanted to represent water because he felt it was calm and tranquil. After painting the whole canvas blue, all of the oceans, rivers and lakes overwhelmed him. He decided to start drawing a landscape in between all the water to create a balance. He use the color brown to create land and mountains and valleys. After looking upon his painting, he realized all the dry brown land made him feel more empty inside. He used green paint to cover the whole landscape, creating forests, trees and plants. It was beautiful, yet he felt still alone. The artist started drawing creatures to roam all over his masterpiece. He painted fish on the oceans to swim through the vast waters, animals and people to walk among the mountains and valleys, and birds to fly through the skies full of stars.

Once he finished his painting he thought this would make him feel fulfilled, but he discovered that looking at his canvas just made him feel more alone. He saw the beauty he had made and wanted to be a part of it, once more he felt isolated and alone on the outside so he thought of the last thing that was missing in his creations, a soul. With this soul creatures were able to express their feelings and thoughts.

“What happened?” Said a bird flying close to the artist.

“Hello little friend, I just wanted to know what you’re thinking. I created this whole world for you and I felt sad not knowing what my creatures felt.” Said the artist.

“It is amazing what you did here, I wish you could see it for yourself.”

“I think maybe there’s one thing I can do so I can have a better look”

The artist decided to do one final addition to his painting before he finished it. He felt so satisfied and happy with what he did that he wanted to spend the rest of his life just looking at it. Just after that a big white shiny object appeared on the sky of the canvas and everyone and everything on the painting were mesmerized by it’s beauty, they instantly knew that their painter was finally with them. Since then all living things in the planet have look up to the moon and deep down know that the moon is looking down too.
