Let's sit around and think about nothing
because there's nothing to do
and screens to stare at.
Shallowly absorb spoonfed syllables in cursed tongues
claiming this town is boring...
but it's all boring.
Learn to love the boredom.
Everything you need is in front of you.
Remember when you were a kid
and you could make an adventure with silverware?
Who told you to let go of that
and start walking between the lines?
You are never too old to sing at the top of your lungs
without fear of judgement
that your voice cracks or you sing with rasp.
I was pretending my hand was a man
walking on the conveyor belt.
A treadmill at the grocery store.
The cashier thought I was autistic.
I left with a smile
because my imagination runs wild.
In a world of robots
I am a unicorn.
