Tempted Siren

what is this gust of wind I fear
this tickling of my soul
some resonating tone I hear
which prompts me from my hole

how ever could I brave that sea
in darkness that is night
what call persists to beckon me
a song of endless light

those ships that crashed upon her rocky shore,
to taste a drop of love within her sound
countless times endeavored there before,
Destiny repeated, never found

the odyssey of music in my head
may never lose its strong hold over me
but if my efforts keep me here instead
perhaps some wax is spared among the bees

resisting this great urge to go explore,
but bellowing for her to hear my plea
her deadly passion I would fear no more
the singing siren might just come hear me
