My grandfather´s slippers

My grandfather´s slippers

My grandfather was a tall and brown man, he looked like he had a hard life and he worked all his life; when he was young he worked as a teacher, he married with my grandmother and they have 9 children. He used to live in a house with a big yard and a lot of trees. When my grandmother died he had to take care of his children. He had sad eyes, I never asked him but I think he missed my grandmother. He liked to watch gymnastic skills, he never knew that his grandchildren were gymnastics; I think he would be proud. When he was sick, he was always in my house, he asked us for help (my brother and I) because he couldn’t down the stairs. He liked to stay in the background and watch he dog and the cat play and fight; He really enjoyed that kind of little things of life, he laughed a lot. He got angry with my uncles and aunts, but I never saw him angry with us; he could forget the birthdays of his children but he never forgot the birthdays of his grandchildren. Sometimes he picked us up from the school and bought us a big ice cream, he was a little old so we had to stop in a park, while my brother and I ate our ice cream he talked with his friends, I don’t know what they were talking but he talked a lot! We had to wait him like an hour, and then we could go home. He used to wake up early, he just waked up to say good bye to my mom (because she had to go to work) and then he slept again. Every memory I have from him is his cigarette, his suit and his slippers; he never cared what people can said about him and how he dressed, he just wanted to be comfortable. Every time we went out he never forgot his slippers, he has a lot or pairs! Every time I smell some cigarette I remember him, I just remember some things, his face, his smell, his smile; just little things because he died when I was 8 years old so I couldn´t meet him so much. People remember him as a good person, a person who talked a lot, happy and noble. My grandfather was not a perfect person, but he was the best person for me.
