Misfortune of Others

Folder:
Short Poems/Others

We moan when trivial things irk us

We groan when vexations are getting too much

But we never see the misfortune of others

Far worst than what grumblings could make us

The famine, the incurable disease and poverty

That surround our ailing neighbours

Seem an eternal curse of endless suffering

A hell of unbearable agony.
