Free Will

Folder:
Spiritual

I gave you free will

By bestowing you

The liberty to do

As you wished,

Whether right or wrong.

The second you realized

You were free from

Answering to Me

You forgot about Me

Altogether.

I had to remind you

By striking you

With pain and sorrow

Just so you’d

Look up to the sky.

But by then,

You were so filled

With anger and disgust

That you came to Me

Begrudgedly.

You came when

You were out of options,

When the world too

Turned from you like

You once turned from Me.

And the moment

I solved your problems,

You went back to

Your old ways, crawling

Into the arms of sin.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This started as something much different. It was meant to be about a relationship. Perhaps I'll have to follow that same train of thought in another poem.
