Drinking cheap beer

like Schlitz

with a football game

on the tube

thinking about a girl

at work

wanting to get it on

with her

just relaxing

and denying reality

of my work

as an underpaid wood worker

and pretending

that I might make it

as a poet and writer

better swig the beer

and do a shot

of brandy

That is what it takes

to keep this dream

from fading away
