CUBAN MUSIC LENDS

Cuban music lends a festive mood to the evening with incense burning and wine glass full.  It makes me wish to dance with you; take your hand and lead you to the dance floor.  Our bodies gyrating to the beat.  The drum beats in sync to our heartbeats.

But alas, you are not here.  So in mind alone do I dance with you.  My heartbeats accentuate the rhythm of the music.  The memories of your begin marinate slowly in my mind.  It is not with despair that I write these words.  It is with eternal hope and perpetual faith that I send these words to you.  I raise my glass to thee and hope the music reaches you as it has reached me.

I see you in my mind.  I visualize your smile and your deep brown eyes.  I can nearly swim in the silhouette aura formed in the dancing smoke from the incense.  The wine provides a lighthearted fondness  that rings true.  The bells chime out your name.  And through the smoky haze my hand reaches out to take your hand.  With nary a hesitation you are drawn to me and I am drawn to you.  It is a force that can not be fought.  I can nearly taste your lips in a moment’s notice.

But the dream can merely create an illusion.  The mere words written do little more than offer me a temporary solace.  I tap my foot in accordance to the rhythm.  Hope still springs eternal and I imagine my fingers softly touching your lips.  The night is long & dark but my faith is alive.  It echoes through my heart beat as I write these words to you.
