bleeding and hurting as they drop and pray
to save our country, to keep us free
dying to save the freedom of you and me
so when you feel your life is bad
take a look at what they don't have
and then maybe you will see

they watch each other breakdown and cry
if you could would you take their place?
when you close your eyes do you see their face?
do you know they have families back home
that they had to leave behind all alone?
some of them never again see their family

broken and bleeding, paying the cost
no one realized when the nails were driven in him
that this was the punishment for all our sin
Jesus took the beatings, the thorns, the nails for us
he beared the price for us all out of his great love
he set us free through the blood that he bleed
he showed us freedom doesn't come free
