Contend

Unfeeling and angry you hide away.

You think that I don’t know,

that there is something inside of you,

you’re too afraid to show.

Dominant and strong outwardly you appear,

straight faced as stone,

Unafraid of fear.

But at your weakest I held you there,

brought out emotions you could not bare.

You hated that moment and tried to regain,

you quickly forgot the fear and the pain.

Passionately words seeped from your mouth,

as for an instance I gave you a way out.

Lost in the feeling I brought you there,

with words and emotions and held you there.

To bring you that place again,

you push me away and will not consent.

You pretend that there is nothing inside,

that love is but your physical pride.

But I will bring you that place again,

give me time and you will contend.
