My Heart, And I

My heart pounds against the walls begging me to let her back in.

Searching without hope for her again and again.

Our emotions are exploding, eroding, and though my heart don't agree, the walls are there, and we have to see this pain through to the end.

We did what we did to heal, you know it and I know it, but my God, how much of you does she have still? You can show it, feel it, after what she's done, but I won't.

It matters, that the fracture happened. Yes, and no one knew us better.

Now brace yourself heart, the storm is near, and we'll be alright, just don't you disappear.

We let an angel in. . . Heart, you and I. We fucked up again
