THE SUDDEN REDEMPTION

Carlos is currently a very depressive man, he has been like this for several time now, this is because he hasn't been doing very good in life lately, starting when his wife died in an accident a few months ago. His friend Max has always been there for him, but Carlos had a long talk with him and his other friends that he just wasn't in the mood for pretty much anything. Even though this altered his friends and family, they knew he was going to be safe, because he had always been a positive person, he just needed some time alone to think. He questioned his cruel destiny every day. He did not understand why his lover had died so untimely. He did not understand how it was possible that the car had thrown her, ending life as he knew it, with hers. One night, he was with his friend Max sitting at the lounge of a bar drinking his problems away, a strange character approached to the, but specially to Carlos. He wore a long black coat, inside which he hid his hands. Realizing what was happening was strange, Carlos and Max hurried away from the bar. However, the man in the black coat put over his shoulder a metallic, elegant and robotic hand. At this, Carlos could not hide his curiosity and return to the man.

The man spoke slowly, with a deep and strange voice. He told Carlos that he had nothing to fear. That he was friends with his wife, that she was fine. Carlos did not know what to say. This was the first time someone had mentioned her name since the day the car had thrown her.

He did not really understand what was happening, because he had taken Taylor to the hospital and had said goodbye to her after her death. As if the man could read Carlos mind, he began to answer his questions one by one, without even having formulated them. He explained that Taylor was not that apart from him, and that she will always be with him.

Carlos did not know whether to laugh or cry, so he remained silent and let the man continue with his explanation.  Carlos requested evidence from the man that Taylor was trying to communicate with him. The man gave Carlos a small screen, indicating that the next day his wife would call him. That, if he accepted to answer that call, he would be assured that it was possible to communicate with his wife. It is not yet known if that man told the truth to Carlos. He felt very strange, like if the presence of the man in the black coat was his wife, or maybe not her, but someone with a mysterious existence, like an angel or something. The stranger man left the bar and left Carlos with some serious thoughts whether he was serious or if it just was a bad joke, never the less, he went to his house and began thinking and thinking about the same. He wanted to believe because his wife was everything to him, but in the bottom he didn't know how to act before this situation.

The next day morning Carlos woke up more quiet and peaceful with himself, for a little time he thought that the experience of the day before was just a dream, because he knew that he had been drinking. Until he saw the same little screen the weird guy gave to him laying beside the other side of his bed. He was wondering if what the mysterious man said to him was true or not, and when he was about to lose his mind, out of a long silence in his bedroom, the little screen began to ring. Carlos felt that the whole thing was true, at the moment the little screen received the call, he felt that it was his wife. He knew it was, but then the unexpected happened, he declined the call and destroyed the device. Max, who was the only witness he had for his experience wasn't there, but Carlos didn't care. He knew he didn't have to prove anything to him, he really felt it was Taylor, but destroyed the device in fear that he may was wrong so he realized he didn't want to find out. Finally, he had the piece he had been searching and he feels that it is a gift from his beloved wife, from the afterlife.
