I fell in love

With a perfect man

Who left me long ago

Whether the love was real

Or my vivid imagination

I’m sure ill never know

I told you id be here

For you alone

I told you I’d love you

Till time came undone

I told you of my want

And of my need for you

I told you of my desire

Ne’er a love as true

You grabbed me by the heart

Threw me to the floor

I came crawling back

Just begging for more

I can’t say I love you

For that I’m far to jaded

But into the treacherous

Waters, I’ve waded

You said I’m sorry

I said I’d stay

Don’t say you’re sorry

I might wait another day

You always were my warmth

And because you’re gone

There will forever be

A chill in my heart

Don’t let me get

Too damn far from you

Just don’t know what I’ll do

I sure can’t face this world alone

I need you more than you’ll ever know

Cuz you can never know

How your warmth

Takes away my chill

I was always the ice

And now I’m melting

I’m drowning in your water

I carry for you

So you finally came

To claim what’s yours
