It won’t hide its’ shark teeth behind soft lips that talk sweet, that lie, saying “Come on in, baby. The water is warm.” It will not force you to keep drinking, even when your belly is so full of it you could float or maybe burst.
The difference between the ocean and the boy you left behind is that the ocean will not kill you slowly. It will eat you alive. It will rename you Jonah and hold you, a soft thing, between its’ teeth.
