King who washes Feet

He washed and dried disciples feet, and knelt

Before plebean  men from Galilee,

He stooped, - stooped low,  the towel in His belt,

He washed and dried those feet upon His knee.

The Teacher, King and Master washing feet,

The final last important lesson  gave.

Example to be followed by repeat; -

The Master ministers unto the lowly slave.

He washed the callous feet of Judas too,

Who still was there among the gathering,

The Master stooped before him, though He knew,

He would betray his friend, and  Lord and King.

He washed their feet with loving tenderness,

He fetched a basin, and then washed and dried

Those grubby dusty feet with graciousness,-

On His on earth last memorable night.

Amazing servicing Divinity.

That doers not mind to serve to stoop and bend,

This attribute is called -  Humility,

Beyond the human mind to understand.

He stooped and washed disciples' dusty feet,-

He thrived on service  ever since He came,

He knew there was so great  a need for it,

And said: "Come follow me and do  the same"!:

Friends! - who saw me,  did see the Father too,

Who in His gracious generosity

Evinces a great mystery to  you;-

The Almighty's splendor is Humility.
