Doubting Thomas - John 20:24-29

Oh doubters all, I pray be not afraid.

If nagging  vexing doubts assail your mind,

For tenets all too often ill portrayed,

Make  faith and doubts to burgeon intertwined.

But  be afraid of people,  those that think,

They hold the Lord securely in their bag,

.Alike a tame and wounded little fink,

And in their wisdom lecture, boast and brag.

They know it all, and they know more to boot,

And have the Lord right at their beck and call,

And with this knowledge taste beatitude,

Because they know it all,- they know it all.

They look at  doubting folks with sheer disdain,

They know it all and they  are always right,

Protests and inqueries turn void and vain,

They hold within their bag the infinite.

Blessed  be doubters who with wary look

Admit they are not ready yet to share

A deity held in a pocket book,

And more, avow they would not even care,

Oh doubters ye, take heart I pray and know,

You caught  between belief ad disbelief,

Uncertainty, the noblest blossoms grow,

To be caught in the harvest's golden sheaf.

Doubt is the path to yet more deeper faith,-

It probes the seekers heart and earnestness,

Prepares the heart for more abundant grace

Oh may Almight God the doubter bless!.

A doubter's words we have as legacy,

We hold so dear, - although he trusted not,

But then believed and now through history,

Rings out his utterance: "My Lord and God!"

John 20:24-29),
