Fairy Dance

Dark and cold
Pushed away and unwanted
She used to cry
But now she laughs
As she dances

Alone at night
She sits on the roof
Crying out to the moon
And when the moon
Has dried her tears
She sits and watches
The fairy’s dance
The fairy’s only
She can see
Because she is the only one
Who believes

She sits at the window
At first light
While the fairies
Say goodbye
The wind blows her hair
Across her face
Her skin pale
Her cheeks bright red
And as the queen
Kisses her goodbye
She thinks

She waits for dark
So the fairy’s can invade her world

No one notices
No one cares
She speaks no words
Only cries silent tears
As she sits at the window
And stares

Comes to her
She holds her tight
Hugs her close
Whispering in a
Sing-song voice
“Come my child, your time has come, to leave behind all your hurt, come with me, dry your tears, tonight you have nothing more to fear.”

They finally noticed
But it’s too late
The poor sweet angel
Is already dead
Such a shame
The people said
She was such a pretty little thing
But they don’t know
That she smiles
Because she feels
No more pain, she is no longer hurting
She smiles because
She is free
Free to dance
With the fairy’s
