Farewell to the Heavens

A dagger's gripped
In her heavenly hands
How deep can she get?
She'll take the chance

A cold hellish blade
Kisses her wings
The feathers break free
And crimson leaks

She's not ashamed,
She'll let it stain

Watching in the shadows,
An answer lurks about
As beauty lies mangled,
Dripping on the clouds

Salt glistens in his eyes,
He turns his head,
And a perfect face hides
No one can know
That angels can cry

A broken heart
Bleeds through its veins
And he hides the pain
That he creates

Maybe the girl with wings she marred
Can help to heal up his own scars
Maybe she can kiss away his pain,
Soft lips repair the damage made

Maybe she'll play her harp again,
And they can live in perfect sin
With bandaged cuts and glued back hearts,
They can leave the Heavens,
And live in the stars
