No News is good news.

No News is Good News.

Waiting for a letter from abroad, telling myself that no news is good news. But who am I trying to kid. No news either means that somebody has not written or forgot to write. It is a matter that only concerns the person waiting for news from somewhere abroad. Look at our own news forecasts on the radio or television. How often do we get news from abroad? Very rarely unless a tragedy occurs then the broadcast try to outdo each other with their broadcasts.

That small town somewhere abroad thank goodness does not often have such tragedies happening. Therefore no news from where you are waiting for a letter telling you that all is well and that nothing bad has happened. It is once again a human fault they have not forgotten you, you are always on their lips they talk about their loved ones at home with such a longing unfortunately it does not as far as to write you a letter telling you that your worries are not called for. So you see No News is sometimes Good news. As my title plainly says, so stop worrying they are out enjoying life you should do the same. Think a little join them in their same game go out and enjoy yourselves. One day that what now seems to be a matter of life and death is just someone’s forgetfulness or even someone’s lack of family ties. Or write a letter disguise your handwriting or get some one else to write saying that you are in hospital and have not long to live. That would I guaranty wake them up and who knows even a telephone call to you. I am willing to bet that as soon as they receive the letter telling of your hospital visit that your phone will ring and ring until someone answers it. Give it a try. It is easy for me to give you such stupid advice as I have just done but it will not put your mind at rest until you do get that long awaited letter. You have my sympathy I know of these letters that never arrive. Now I do not await any letters my letter writers have all gone to where we all must go sooner or later, so remember no news is sometimes Good News. From your scribbler, Bern.
