And so it begins

On this Winter Solstice,
I saw only the despair,
agony, anger, and fear,
that my heart knew to accept.

And so it began:

I lost you
(but my heart knew how to accept)
to the beasts
that once knew:
How to love, and be human.

Beasts who were once
(my heart hath learnt to accept)
friends, family, or foes.

The sky split open,
and it mattered little.
The sky bleed,
and I kept pulling the trigger.
The sky darkened,
and I looked at you.

The mind that was no longer.
The love that was no more.
The human that was not there.

I pulled the trigger (once more with feeling),
you fell,
I moved forward,
only wishing we had kissed
(whether the world ends or not).

A taste of the life I leave behind.
The life that no longer mine.
