Irish Travellers

just when I thought I’d find a place to stay
you know the old travelling jones start to play
burning desire to move on is the Pavee way

so now woman, do not disturb me with the expansion of time
I lived a hundred years in one night to make this rhyme
now only the road can sate me and keep me sublime

themes of emblems, evident to inspire
influences on smoke, spark and fire
frenzy down the trails with the spoken word and unwritten desire

by way of India and China, that is the legend of nomadic birthright
working with our hands and a quicker wit is the tinkers plight
as the millennium pass our way is to hit the road with little sound late at night
