Be Free or Die a Slave
I’m a leader of an abolitionist movement
40,000 is the cost of my head
I became a revolutionary
Doing a job, some would say most men can’t
Fearing I would be sold in 1849, after my Master had died
Refusing to be traded like I was goods
Therefore, on my instincts I relied
One Nation under God
Yep, that is what the free American say
Strong on their beliefs but, would keep us enslaved, if they had their way
All because of greed, Economical reasons
And they say that is the American way
10yrs, and 19 trips, to rescue slaves from the south
Guiding slaves through the underground, trying to stay safe
There were many passengers that were exhausted and threatened to stop along the way
I stayed firm; I stood tall, with a pistol in my hand
“You’ll be Free or die a Slave”
And I’m not scared to empty my clip
I never lost a passenger, I am thankful
Because that was the intent of the trip
My name is Harriet
Harriet Tubman for those of you who did not know
I risked my freedom, Fought for a cause
“To Let My People Go”
