facebook

facebook friend

..........

(^^image from mashable.com^^)

the only definition

that seems fittingly so,

is that a 'facebook friend'

could be anyone...

you simply do not know,

the 'unknown zone'

may be the place they

call home,

it's somewhere 'out there',

not here, and not gone.

so dear facebook friend,

with communication

so penned,

wherever you are,

i cannot say,

but you've been

a dear friend,

forever and a day,

you are always there

with you cute

profile picture,

smiling as we chatter,

through the strains

of life's strictures,

i never met you,

and yet blindly,

we converse,

about everything online,

in fact, all in the universe,

you're there when

it's raining,

and even in the snow,

carved in digital

realities, which

little of I know,

but now the time has come

for me to clean up

this list, and i fear

i must delete you,

oh, please don't

be pissed!

exactly you're

mission, i dont

have clue, but

believe me my dear,

our friendship's

like glue,

on my page you

are hidden,

so you won't notice

you're not there,

til your next quip

or comment,

attempted to share.

we never exchanged

phone calls, or

met for a beer,

but my inbox is open

so you can email

all year,

you live miles away,

but believe me

of this,

you're as close

as you were ever,

even though we

n'er kissed,

if there's one

thing to learn

from this digital void,

is that social networking's

for fun, an accessory,

to be enjoyed,

because although

we are spirit,

this life is so,

so much more,

our friendship conceived

through this virtual birth,

but truly my friend,

our names on a list

does not show

our true worth.

What exactly is a 'facebook friend'? If you have never met the person, it is a friendship without a person. It is a name on a list. Oh, come on....we ar better than that!! ...hehe....

We all got Facebook Friends

Folder:
Personal

We all got facebook friends

long lists without an end

writing on walls, messages

pc n phones; supping beverages

but the generation before

true friendship, knew the score

no walls to write on days

you had no choice but gaze

into the eyes of those

in your company you chose

easier to judge your company

idiots would stick out completely

and those you trusted with

life, love, energy, all of it

allowed them through your door

to write on your souls wall

and if you let my dad in

he would not stop scribbling

If you interacted with dad

he always made you glad

always helped when he could

whatever your neighbourhood

also always full of love

plucking heart strings; so proud of

friendship then, so much deeper

social interaction so much sweeter

give undesirables a wide berth

more solid friendships given birth

more local friend bases too

built with love, compassion, truth

constructed with things in common

forming a solid foundation

to shape lasting friendships too

bound with a strong emotional glue

not present in social networking

face to face friendship abandoning

lot to answer for, modern technology

tho easy to spread yourself too thinly

easy to talk across the globe

the joys of skyping don’t you know

not the same as personal interaction

gives the soul ultimate satisfaction

If She Only Knew

If only she knew how I think often where she rests. Hoping she's always in great health and protected through this troublesome world.
If only she knew how I go from a frown to a smile with the sound of your voice. How I am always happy to hear her talk about anything that comes to mind.
If only she knew how I often have these uncontrollable feelings inside.
If only she knew how much I have developed to care for her because she accepted my request online. How I gotten to know more about her little each time we connect. How I wish I could see her one day in life.
If only she knew that I care for her because she's a life that is special. She has a spirit that makes her glow.
If only she knew how often I am sadden whenever we talk and she must go. How I speak of her beauty and courageous ways. How one woman could have this type of effect on a man a great distance away.
If only she knew that there are still good people in the world.
If only she knew that I would give up my world to live and learn from hers.
If only she knew I felt much better in life since I first gotten to know her.

Shouldn't Have

Folder:
2010-2012 Poems

I shouldn’t have clicked that stupid link.
Now my thoughts start to sink,
Back from where we began
Until the day I painfully asked you-
To forget me and ‘be gone’.

Your one mistake, I cannot forego.
You cannot undo, even if you wanted so.
Sacrifice our hearts for doing the right thing.
She was there, she was weak-
You shouldn't have given in.

You knew you could have been the one.
You were my best friend, my worst lover.
I was your queen, your heroine
And I always know, in your eyes I’ll still be-
If it’s not a sin.

On the other hand, I’m happy to see you happy.
Finally embrace the life, the ‘consequence’ as it should be.
But still I know those eyes, that Mark Ruffalo smile.
Who many times told me-
‘I’d be waiting for you at the end of the aisle’.

You shouldn't have promised.
I don't regret that I believed.
Life goes on, love survives.
We had the time of our lives.
But still--I shouldn’t have clicked that stupid link.
