Life!

Ugonna Wachuku

On lush, green mountain slopes

and humane islands, this river

begins its hopeful journey to

oceans for life; on our

enchanting earth

home, unbound.

Bright breathtaking landscapes
and welcoming country-sides glow

with life from earth's oceans.

You are there all the worthy way:

There is beauty and inspiration.
There are moonlight stories in
hearty village squares made
lively by the smile you hold
within your beautiful being.

The river is there - still moving
on its earthly journey through
landscapes of home and inspiration.
In your emerald eyes, windows of
heavenly hope open for new life:

Life: And your name is born anew
for humanity and for bald eagle
me. Your river unfolds a humane
rainbow's rain. You are just
smilingly there with all upliftment
like glorious songs from angels
of our Heavenly Father's abode.

New dawn awaits humanity and my
eagle soul in your cherished care -:
This new dawn when your soothing
voice will welcome us to the
homely square in the handsome
heart of Ethiopian villages.

Life. And it is your name.
Life. And it is the hope and
patience that lifts this eagle
to blessingly soar through
towering mountains and stormy
skies on our earthly pathways
and river roads reclaimed for
you, all humankind, earth's
nature and living creatures.

Life. And you are there,
touchingly, with that
unwavering inspiration
your smile brings.
Life. And you calmly
welcome this eagle to
your humble, little
corner on the sprawling
hall of this global home
for humanity and peace.
Life. And the eagle in me
lands - just to see, uphold,
cherish and be made persevering
to soar this new day and always.

Life. And you are there - on
lush, green mountain slopes
where the river's journey
begins. Life. And you are
cutely there to welcome
the eagle's flight home in
all of your radiant, fertile
beauty.

Life and you are inspiringly
there for the abundant good of
all humanity and eager eagle me.

Life and you are bountifully
there on lush, green mountain
slopes of heavenly home where
this rainbow river
begins its journey
to oceans for

Silence

Ugonna Wachuku

There's grave silence

accross the earth seen.

Hidden hearts preach in

cities for growth, for

social justice, for

dying humankind's

well-being globally,

for fertile farmlands

and humane harvest.

Inequality blooms!

Silence! You don't

count!

Church bells are silently

ringing at the distance.

Temple bells are also

ringing. And Mosque

calls mingle with these

ringing bells alive.

I can hear the women
and men singing. I hear

humankind singing:
I can hear you from
Essertines. I can hear

you from Nigeria!

I can hear you from

Mexico! I can hear

you from these United

States of America!

I can hear your voice

Yet, you are so far
away. But I am still

human unloved!

But with the clustered
brilliance of your waving
hair, you will come in
silence.

At the warmth of the
evening sun, you will
smile in silence. I too
will watch in silence.

Night shall come with
golden lamps to give
you hope and unforgotten
love with cherishment;
to give you the silence
of yearning hearts walking
the lush landscape of my
beckoning soul:

That loving mutness in
sweet sad silence seen

across our breathing

blue earth!

There's grave silence

accross the earth seen.

Hidden hearts preach in

cities for growth, for

resilience, for soothing

social justice, for fresh

farming and harvest,

for dying humankind's

well-being, globally!

Inequality is King!

The Eagle Soars Tonight

Ugonna Wachuku

Through green hills and

misty mountain sides,

dreamy dusk breaks in on me.

Shadows of the moon-beam

gather around me for the

journey ahead. There is a

dance of souls and minds.

Tonight, the owl hoots

no more because I have

landed. The eagle is here.

On welcoming mountain tops

of home and beauty, I watch

these majestic name-sakes of

mine soar through blue skies

and caring clouds of heaven.

Breathless, I learn from them.

Enchanted, I watch their visionary

strength. I am calm. I am

overwhelmed. I am humbled.

I am inspired...

Tonight, I must start a journey

to new beginning. I must fly

stormy and peaceful skies through

life.

But then, I have learnt from

these name-sakes of mine. Like them,

I must soar tonight under moonlit

skies of home as I make my way

to new dawn on earthly clouds.

I will surely soar tonight.

Tomorrow awaits me with joy

at the landing field of love

and painful joy. These towering

mountains will not conquer me

because

I am Eagle;

and I will

indeed,

soar

tonight,

and

into

heaven's

new

dewy

dawn

The Eagle Soars Tonight:

~ Critiques/Comments ~

So Majectic of a read Ugonna!  This line in particular, "Tonight, the
owl hoots no more because I have landed. The eagle is here."  Made me
think of the tiny caterpillar, how he one day just disappears into his
cocoon because he knows the time is now, for his emergence to become
the butterfly he was meant to be.  I truly enjoyed the whole piece.
Thank you.

I find myself drawn to the poems with eagle references. The splendor
of the eagle (your namesake for which you should be proud) simply
surges though this verse. You choose your adjectives wisely (caring
clouds), and skillfully control the flow of the poem so that it
captures the grace and nobility of the eagle and its message. You take
the beauty of God's creation and make it unforgettable.

My name Ugonna means Eagle of God or Eagle of the Father. Like my essence-sakes amongst God incredible creations, I am wonderfully made to soar and achieve with keen vision and strength. Indeed, I love my name so much because it creatively inspires my life in a very powerful but humble manner! There is an enriching beauty of the spirit within the depths of my creative soul. Welcome to my world of love, peace, tears, pain, inspiration and empowering creativity!
