Mirror Mirror on the Wall

She stares at me with intense distaste.
I soak in her scrutinizing judgment
As our eyes lock.
A dolorous sobbing begins in her throat
And slowly creeps upon her face as her brow furrows.
Her eyes look on with a new potency;
All hatred has left the cloudy blue spheres,
And in its place a sickening anguish.
Her bleak eyes plead with me for help.
Just as my mouth opens for reassurance
a laugh escapes her lips and her eyes drop to the floor.
Cheerfulness envelopes her body as she cries out with laughter.
I begin to smile back at this playful new friend,
But again I see her eyes.
I helplessly stare into the threshold of her scars and sorrows,
Wishing to once more only see her pseudo-happiness.
Her smile widens,
Knowing I’ve seen past her façade.

Unspoken Words

I know that you worry about me
That you’re willing to protect me
You have no idea how much that means to me

You are one of the only people in the world I trust with all my heart
You have been my candle in the dark
I don’t know what I would do without you

Yesterday, you wanted to help
I could see you didn’t know how
You didn’t know how to save me
And I could see in your eyes that you were conflicted
You wanted to save me
You wanted to protect me

I tried telling you with my eyes
I wanted you to take me away
But you didn’t see it
You didn’t know
You reluctantly walked away

You wanted to help
I know you did
That’s why I don’t blame you
For walking away
I know you didn’t like it
But it’s what you had to do

The thing is I felt my heart drop
The moment you walked away
I wanted to call to you
I wanted to tell you to stay
The words were stuck inside me
And it left me feeling dread

I didn’t know what to do
The only one who protects me walked away
I was left alone
With someone whom did me harm

I could see you looking at us from a far
Making sure I was ok
I wanted nothing more than for you to save me

If only my silent words had been heard
If only my eyes were able to speak for me
If only I could have spoke

You would have left, but with me next to you
I would have been safe and
I wouldn’t have had to be with
My worst nightmare

The death of life
The end of reason
A senseless termination
“THE END” in capital letters
Stopping the clock
Closing the eyes

But death is just the beginning

My Place

My Love

I’m sorry
But I can’t help but stare
I know those eyes
And I see right into them
Past the walls placed against them
Past all the remarks
Past all the cover-ups
Right to the scars
Right to the pain
Right to your fears
I’m your heart
Or at least
That’s what you gave me
I’ll never leave you
I’ll never let them hurt you
I’m always here
Embracing you
Letting you know
You’re still alive
And have so much to live for
This is my place
Living on the inside
So you can live without

The Poet

No, the poet does not strive to "make
the reader understand." The reader (that
intangible abstraction) cannot mold

the poet's path, the poem which, of itself,
is born upon the page, chasing nothing
but its own sweet dream. It is I, tangible,

individual reader, who must rise
to exigencies the poem dares me
try and find significant—it is I,

always I, must climb the heights the poem
lures me climb, with all due dangers posed,
all delights unveiled before my eyes,

until finally I have found the path, and made
myself worthy of the poem's infinite beauty
and deep significance.

It is then the poem will open up its calyx,
give off its fragrance and sweet scent,
to transform our lives with unspeakable,
sublime Wonder.

His Poem

Your eyes light up my day
Your touch drives me absolutely insane

Your smile is infectious
Your laugh is music to my ears

When we are apart I feel
I feel like i'm missing something
Something important
Something I need

I dont think you know how much
You mean to me
When we fight i get so upset
But only because you dont believe me when i say i love you

You gave me the great gift of your presence
We've been best friends for awhile
But you mean so much more
I told you secrets
You told me yours

In your hand you hold my heart
And in mine I hold yours.

Leave Me Forgotten,Think of Me No More.

My Love

Life, Love, Truth
Beautiful things giv’n me in my youth
But I wasted them all away.

Your love, your eyes, your kiss
All of the things that I miss
But I never made you stay.

Glances, chances, charm
Who knew they could bring such harm?
I left your spirit to soar.

Death, time, rotten,
Please leave me forgotten,
Think of me no more.

Light and Dark

Light turns shadow
Shadow grows darker
Brightness has left from my eyes

Light has left me
Darkness calls me
As I sink into these lies

The world has called me
And I will answer
As I fall into this void

Sleep now takes me
Life has left me
Now I lie dead and cold.

The sky is purple,
The clouds are black.
I'm drowning in fear,
My heart beats fast.
Dead trees, dead people,
Yet all I can see
Is the demon with blue eyes
Staring at me.
