allegorical poem

THE TRUE PARADISE

Author's Notes/Comments:

*SAQI: As I have mentioned in my previous poems a saqi is a person who gives water/drinks to the thirsty men and women. A saqi can be a man or a beautiful veiled woman -- as it is here. Saqi is also used in Arabic/Persian and Urdu-Hindi languages while describing God Almighty, angels and saints. A houri (Hoor in Arabic. Persian and Urdu) is a pure and chaste companion dwelling in Paradise. It also refers to a pretty and virtuous woman with beautiful eyes.
