affection

I lay my tender heart.

I lay my tender heart at your feet
and my soul and very being I surrender
My desire and quest
to fill your heart with so much joy
and summer
that the sweetest of emotion
and my endless affection can bring
for thou makes my heart sing.

To stand by you
to provide and protect you
a bond so strong
nothing can tare it apart
until death do us part
and we meet again
later in a ,much better place
once again reunited.

My Sister's ridiculous voice

My sister had a ridiculous voice ...
a confession I hate to make ...
She wanted to sing in the annual convention..
an embarrassing task, I wished she didn't take ...

Despite my sincerest objection ...
she talked out her way to the stage ...
I remember  figuring out an escape route ..
ohh!!! couldn't she wait till she would graduate ..

An elder brother was I ,
grimly aware of  the possible taunts ..
I solemnly led her to the platform ...
her rivals best in their abilities to flaunt ..

My heart starts to flounder ..
her humiliation almost certain
I resolve  to lend her a comforting shoulder ..
hope to ease her unwanted burden..

and then she starts singing ..
her voice no longer ridiculous ..
she searches past the last row ...
her eyes locked on me in intent ..

She sings of her brother ...
the best thing in her life ...
Off all the nights he looked after her ..
how he raised her despite the strife ...

It's 20 years past that night ..
I sing the same song by her grave ...

And as she goes down underneath
I start losing my controlled poise
My heart yearning just once more..
to hear my sister's ridiculous voice.

Smiling Eyes

Hello stranger with the smiling eyes,
I've been missing you for a while.
We just met, but it's safe to bet
that I'm falling for your smile.

Sweet, loving thing, brave honesty.
I hope you're broken something like me.
Because the valleys of your fingers
are where mine would like to be.

My shoulder nook, opened like a book,
your head could rest for hours.
You'd be my month of May, if just you'd stay,
I'll be your April showers.

And I could never love my ways,
so you'll lose interest in rainy days.
But this broken sonnet is here to say,
I don't want to see you fade away.

Touches

Come and sit by me,
rest your arm against mine.
Don't move it, please...
It feels so sublime.

Once, twice,
make me think.
That maybe we could
share a link.

Now it's my shoulder,
making me shudder,
but pleasantly,
my heart all aflutter.

Touch my heart,
touch my soul,
touch me please,
and make me whole.

So many touches
yet to be.
I want to share them
between you and me.

A hug if I'm sad.
A mischievous tickle,
If delivered just right,
I'll do more than giggle.

A hand on my back,
shows concern if I'm sick.
An embrace when I'm crying
would do just the trick.

We've shared a few touches,
but I want much more.
Don't leave me, my darling,
You've touched me to the core.

Choices part II

My son now nine, asks me questions,
Straight, upfront, disturbing
I have no answers he can understand
I wish I could tell him
That he’d be normal one day
And the incontinence and the smell
Of pampers will go away
I am an optimist and
Have faith in GOD
And I tell him He will make him
Better one day. Look after him
Long after I am gone.
I still remember the choice I made
Despite being aware of all the challenges
Life would bare
I have seen him crawl on his belly
As his legs were too weak to bear the weight
And I have witnessed him
Stand up and play
I have learnt more from him
Than I could ever teach
Courage, patience, will power
And the desire
To achieve tasks beyond his reach
At night as his mother
Massages his aching legs, finds painless blisters
On numb feet
It hurts.
